…Manager confirms €75m deal nearly finalized
…Turkish champions allocate major budget for Nigerian star
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has confirmed that the club’s summer transfer activity has revolved entirely around Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, revealing that talks are nearing a successful conclusion.
Speaking to Turkish media outlet Habersarikirmizi, Buruk disclosed that the club is in the final stages of securing a permanent deal for Osimhen, who played last season on loan at the Istanbul-based side from Napoli.
“Everything is positive regarding the Osimhen transfer. We are nearing completion. We hope it will be concluded positively soon,” Buruk said.
He further emphasized the scale of the move, noting that a significant chunk of the club’s transfer budget has been dedicated to landing the 25-year-old striker.
“Our entire transfer situation was about Osimhen. A significant budget has been allocated. Once that is finalized, we are looking at what we can do,” Buruk stated.
Sources close to the deal revealed that Galatasaray and Napoli have already agreed on the financial terms, including bank guarantees and payment plans. The Turkish champions will reportedly pay Osimhen’s €75 million release clause in two instalments within 12 months.
Osimhen, who impressed during his spell at Galatasaray last season, is now expected to return to Istanbul this week and meet with fans ahead of the club’s pre-season campaign.
Should the deal be finalized, it would mark one of the most expensive transfers in Turkish football history and a major statement of intent by Galatasaray heading into the new season.
