Less than 24 hours after her unexpected appointment as Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Hon. Ayo Omidiran has publicly thanked President Bola Tinubu alongside Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, and his wife Kafayat Oyetola for their instrumental roles in her nomination.

A former member of the House of Representatives from Osun State and committed All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Omidiran took to Facebook to express her appreciation, stating, “Grateful, for the nomination, Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, For the recommendation, H.E Adegboyega Oyetola, For staying true to sisterhood, H.E Kafayat Oyetola and to God, the Almighty, for everything. Alhamdulillah Robbi li alameen.”

Her appointment came as a late-night surprise after President Tinubu initially announced the reappointment of Dr. Muheeba Dankaka, whose tenure was described by the Presidency as “dogged by controversy.” Omidiran now succeeds Dankaka, marking a swift leadership change within the commission.

The development highlights the influence of trusted political figures and the administration’s decisive approach in FCC leadership matters.
