The Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) has accused the owner of Enyimba TV and Radio station of reopening a sealed illegal building inside the station’s premises without any known court order.
In a statement by Chibuzo Amaechi, Head of Information Unit/PRO, GADA said the structure was sealed on August 12, 2025, without assaulting, harassing, or arresting anyone. The agency noted that a court order had earlier directed all parties to maintain the status quo, which it said it obeyed by not visiting the site for three months.
According to GADA, the property owner unlawfully unsealed the building and resumed construction, leading the agency to report the matter to the police. “This operation was carried out peacefully, with no incidents of assault, harassment, or arrest. The Management of GADA reiterates that this action is not a witch-hunt against any individual or organisation,” the statement read.
However, Enyimba FM and TV Limited alleged that at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday, stern-looking unidentified men arrived in six buses and disrupted peace at the station. The management claimed GADA officials ignored a July 29, 2025, Abia State High Court order in Suit No. A/137/2025, which it says barred further action on the matter.
The disagreement now centres on the two sides’ conflicting interpretations of the court’s directive.
