The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has unveiled the calendar for the 2025/26 season, locking in Friday, August 22, 2025, as the kickoff date.

Defending champions Remo Stars will host Rivers United in a high-stakes opening clash at Ikenne, setting the tone for a season packed with intense rivalries and title ambitions.

The league will pause for a mid-season break from December 30, 2025, to January 6, 2026, allowing clubs to regroup ahead of the campaign’s decisive half. The mid-season transfer window will be open from January 1 to January 30, 2026, offering teams a chance to strengthen their squads.

The 2025/26 NPFL season will wrap up on Sunday, May 24, 2026, marking the end of a nine-month battle for domestic supremacy.
