Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has promised fans that the Porcupine Warriors will not relent in their push for CAF Confederation Cup progress, despite edging Kwara United 4-3 in a tense first-leg clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Amoah, who struck twice in Sunday’s thriller, admitted defensive lapses cost his side a bigger cushion but insisted Kotoko remain focused on sealing qualification in Nigeria.
“We played very well as we scored more goals, but a little bit of mistake from the defence and they scored. We are not giving up, we are going there to qualify,” Amoah declared in his post-match remarks.
The decisive reverse fixture comes up at the MKO Abiola Sports Arena in Abeokuta, where even a draw will be enough to send Kotoko into the second round of the competition.
