Police Tighten Security At Sokoto INEC Office As Officials Await Election Materials

More men of the Nigeria Police have been deployed in the Independent National Electoral Commission state secretariat in Sokoto.

The operatives of the Mobile Force, who were only about 20 as of 12pm were now about 100 as of 3:30pm.

An Armoured Personnel Carrier was strategically positioned opposite the main entrance to the premises, while the operatives occupied the premises and its surroundings, including the adjoining streets.

Officials of INEC had just left for the Central Bank of Nigeria to collect sensitive materials for onward distribution to local government areas of the state.
