The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has fired back at former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, over his comment urging Nigerians to mobilize against President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Wednesday, the party’s spokesman, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, dismissed Amaechi’s remark as “political hallucination” and “a well-deserved contempt.”

Oladejo ridiculed Amaechi’s call for national mobilization, saying it was ironic for a politician “rejected at home” to imagine leading a national revolt.

“Amaechi is free to dream, but he must stop mistaking his nightmares for national reality,” Oladejo said. “He is a political orphan — disowned in Rivers, irrelevant nationally, and steadily sinking into total political oblivion.”

The APC spokesman further mocked Amaechi’s dwindling influence, claiming his name now provokes laughter in political discussions in Rivers State.

“A man who has lost his structure, followers, and voice suddenly wants to lecture Nigerians on how to ‘mobilise.’ Mobilise who? The few loyalists left in his WhatsApp group?” Oladejo queried.

He added that Amaechi cannot claim to lead a national movement “when his own backyard has padlocked the gate against him.”

The Lagos APC maintained that President Tinubu’s leadership remains unshaken and dismissed Amaechi’s remarks as the frustration of a fading politician seeking relevance.
