President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as the Renewed Hope Ambassador ahead of the Federal Government’s nationwide launch of its Ward Development Programme.

The appointment, announced Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also assigns Governor Uzodimma the role of Director-General for Party Outreach, Engagement, and Mobilisation.

Effective immediately, Uzodimma—who chairs the Progressive Governors Forum—will work with the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership and state governors to drive grassroots support for the Tinubu administration. His mandate includes strengthening party unity, deepening inclusiveness, and coordinating strategic engagements nationwide.

President Tinubu said all APC governors will equally serve as “Ambassadors of Hope,” collaborating with Uzodimma to publicise the administration’s achievements since assuming office in May 2023.

The President cited gains under his Renewed Hope Agenda, including seven straight months of eased inflation at 16.05 per cent in October, stabilised exchange rates, and an improved foreign reserve position now above $46 billion—up from the $32 billion and a net reserve of $4 billion inherited in 2023. He added that investor confidence has rebounded, with rising foreign direct and portfolio inflows, a strengthened oil and gas sector, a surging stock market, and expanding diversification driven by solid minerals.

Tinubu charged Uzodimma with ensuring Nigerians across all communities are fully informed about these policy outcomes and understand the administration’s progress so far.
