The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has slammed the African Democratic Congress (ADC) over its public directive to Peter Obi on his 2027 presidential ambition, describing it as a “failed political arrangement” and “a coalition without democracy, fairness or future.”

Reacting to the ADC’s demand that Obi clarify his political plans, APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo said the development exposed deeper confusion within the opposition camp. He argued that the ADC’s stance showed the party lacked ideology, consistency and strategic direction.

Oladejo stated that Nigerians were witnessing “opposition disarray and ideological bankruptcy,” accusing the ADC of attempting to dictate national leadership when it could not even determine its own internal values.

He criticised what he called ADC’s shifting positions — from rejecting zoning to issuing public warnings to the same aspirant it previously paraded as a key figure. Oladejo added that Obi had become trapped in a party “built solely around the ambition of one individual,” noting that ADC’s recent declaration on zoning implied that its presidential ticket may already have been secretly settled.

The APC spokesperson described the latest episode as “a public quarrel inside a hollow coalition of contradictions,” insisting that the opposition remained unable to present a united or credible alternative ahead of the 2027 election.
