Reactions have intensified following the wedding of popular Nigerian cleric, Pastor Chris Okafor, as controversy surrounding his alleged past relationship with Nollywood actress Doris Ogala continues to dominate public discourse.

Reports indicate that Ogala recently accused the clergyman of abandoning her to become engaged to another woman, claiming he had promised to marry her after what she described as eight years of an intimate relationship. The actress’ allegations, which were accompanied by leaked chats circulating online, sparked widespread condemnation, with many social media users faulting the pastor for allegedly engaging in a sexual relationship outside marriage, while others criticised Ogala for remaining in the relationship.

Tensions escalated after reports emerged that the actress attempted to take her own life. In the aftermath, Ogala reportedly threatened to disrupt Okafor’s wedding and demanded a house as compensation.

Despite the controversy, photos from Pastor Okafor’s wedding ceremony, reportedly held on Tuesday, have since surfaced online and gone viral, reigniting heated reactions across social media platforms.

Many users questioned the decision of the bride to proceed with the marriage amid what they described as serious red flags. Comments under the trending images reflected a mix of shock, sarcasm and concern, with several warning the bride about the unfolding allegations.

Further reports recalled that Pastor Okafor previously divorced his ex-wife, Bessem Okafor, in 2014, following allegations of domestic abuse and assault—claims that had also generated public attention at the time.
