The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has ordered immediate legal action against popular Nigerian TikToker, Peller, following a car crash widely circulated on social media.
Reports indicate that the influencer was allegedly involved in a deliberate road accident on Sunday afternoon, shortly after a breakup with his girlfriend and fellow content creator, Jarvis. A video of the incident later surfaced online, triggering public outrage and renewed calls for authorities to revoke his driver’s licence.
Reacting on Monday, the FRSC, in a statement posted on X, directed its Lagos State Command to prosecute the TikTok star in line with existing traffic regulations.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Muhammed, condemned the dangerous use of public roads for entertainment content and urged key industry stakeholders—including the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), content creators, and other entertainment associations—to rein in their members and promote responsible conduct.
Muhammed instructed the Lagos command to charge Peller for reckless driving, use of a mobile phone while driving, and distracted driving, offences he said violate extant traffic laws.
The FRSC further warned the entertainment industry that popularity does not place anyone above the law, stressing that “fame does not confer immunity from the law, nor does it excuse dangerous behaviour on public roads.”
