Veteran actors Jide Kosoko and Yinka Quadri have urged the public to continue praying for their colleague, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, while explaining why the actor cannot currently be moved to other treatment centres.

The appeal follows numerous offers from people claiming to have medical, spiritual or traditional solutions for the actor, who is reportedly battling stage-four cancer.

Ogogo’s daughters, Kira and Haleemah, recently sought public support after disclosing their father’s condition and asking for help in exploring available treatment options. Their appeal prompted widespread concern, with several people offering to connect the family with hospitals and alternative practitioners.

In a statement shared on Instagram on Wednesday, Kosoko and Quadri said the family had received offers from more than 300 people, and possibly over 500, but could not respond to everyone because of Ogogo’s current condition.

“We have received offers from more than 300, and even over 500 people, each sincerely believing that they have something that could help him,” the actors said.

They stressed that the difficulty was not a refusal to consider available options but the challenge of moving Ogogo from his current hospital.

The actors thanked Ogogo’s fans and well-wishers worldwide for their prayers, messages and support, while asking them to continue praying for his recovery.

“Please, continue to pray with us. We believe strongly that, with your prayers, our prayers, and the mercy of Almighty God, Taye will come out of this situation. There is nothing impossible before Almighty God,” they said.

They also asked people offering spiritual or alternative treatment to understand the family’s situation.

“We also want to clarify something very important. Please, do not feel offended or disappointed if we are unable to bring Ogogo to you for spiritual assistance or treatment.

“It is extremely difficult to move him from the hospital to different locations at this stage of his treatment, especially considering the large number of people who have offered to help,” they said.

Do you think continued public support and prayers can help Ogogo and his family through this difficult period?
