National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, has called on Nigerians to rally behind the party’s mission to rebuild the country, insisting that collective action remains the surest path to a better Nigeria.

Mark made the call in his New Year message, released in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Paul Mumeh, on Thursday in Kano.

Reflecting on the past year, the former Senate President admitted that 2025 imposed severe hardships on citizens, driven by the rising cost of living, escalating food prices, expensive basic drugs, and increased transportation fares. He faulted the All Progressives Congress (APC)–led government for what he described as the imposition of harsh taxes, warning that such policies only deepen despair among Nigerians.

According to him, the ADC stands firmly on the principles of patriotism, service, and accountability, and is determined to offer Nigerians a credible alternative rooted in people-centred governance.

Mark described 2025 as a difficult year for most households but noted that it also marked a turning point with the launch of Nigeria’s opposition coalition under the ADC on July 2.

He said the party has since received widespread encouragement and support from ordinary Nigerians across the country, signalling growing confidence in the ADC’s vision.

While admitting that the party is not without flaws, Mark stressed that its leadership remains guided by a strong sense of duty and a commitment to stand on what he called “the good side of history.”

He reaffirmed his belief in the power of the people to drive change and expressed confidence that a better Nigeria is achievable through collective resolve and active political participation
