Haven360 Foundation has wrapped up a high-impact two-day engagement in Anambra State, shifting the narrative from survival to justice in the alleged assault case involving Jennifer Edema Elohor and five other National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members.

The intervention, which began on February 23 following the conclusion of the group’s “Our Haven” programme in Lagos, climaxed with two critical court appearances at the Federal High Court, Awka Division, and the Magistrate Court, Awka.

Courtroom Breakthrough

At the Federal High Court in Awka, Haven360 secured a definite hearing date in the ₦1 billion fundamental rights enforcement suit filed against the Anambra State Government and relevant officials. The case stems from the July 23, 2025 incident in which Jennifer Edema Elohor and five corps members serving in Oba, Idemili South Local Government Area, were allegedly attacked at their lodge by armed operatives of the Agunechemba Vigilante Group, also known locally as the Udo Gachi Vigilante Group.

After months of sustained legal pressure, the court has now fixed the matter for substantive hearing, signaling a decisive step toward judicial determination.

Evidence Presented, Prosecution Advances

Meanwhile, at the Magistrate Court in Awka, the foundation facilitated the presentation of key evidence against identified members of the vigilante group accused of carrying out the assault. The move strengthens prosecutorial efforts and accelerates the path toward possible conviction.

Protection Amid Intimidation

Amid reported threats and safety concerns surrounding the case, Haven360 says it implemented protective measures for the victims while pushing for institutional accountability and serious prosecutorial attention.

Beyond the courtroom proceedings, the foundation also engaged stakeholders, students, and members of the legal community in preparation for a broader humanitarian outreach in the state.

With the next court dates approaching, the foundation insists the focus remains clear: translating advocacy into enforceable justice.
