The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its readiness to wrest power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State, setting the stage for a fierce political contest ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The bold declaration came on Sunday in Maiduguri during the inauguration of the party’s state executive members, where ADC Chairman, Kolo Bukar, unveiled the party’s strategy to dismantle the ruling party’s dominance in the state.

Bukar accused the current administration of failing to tackle persistent insecurity and governance challenges, insisting that the ADC is fully prepared to reshape the political landscape.

“We are going to change the political tide in 2027. Our party knows the people and we know how to unseat the ruling party in Borno State,” he declared.

He further linked the resurgence of violent attacks in parts of the North-East to governance failures, stressing that the ADC would deploy practical solutions to address insecurity if elected.

According to him, the party is already crafting policies aimed at crushing insecurity, reducing poverty, and tackling unemployment across all 27 local government areas of the state.

Also speaking, party leader Kashim Imam Ibrahim said the ADC is focused on revamping living conditions and delivering responsive governance to residents.

Despite acknowledging internal challenges, the party expressed confidence that it would emerge stronger and more united as it intensifies preparations for the 2027 polls.

The announcement signals a growing momentum within the ADC as opposition parties begin to strategize aggressively for what is shaping up to be a high-stakes electoral battle in Borno State.
