The President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has shared an ambitious plan to grow his massive industrial project. He revealed that expanding the Dangote Refinery will eventually allow it to produce 1.4 million barrels of oil every single day. This huge growth will create a massive job boost for the nation, with roughly 95,000 skilled workers needed when construction reaches its highest point. Dangote spoke about these plans in Lagos while receiving a special honour from the Nigerian Academy of Engineering.

This expansion marks a significant step in the industrial journey of the country. Dangote explained that the project shows his company’s dedication to engineering excellence and long-term economic growth. He noted that the award he received was very special because it highlights his efforts to hire local professionals. “This award is particularly meaningful because it recognises what we are doing in the industry, especially our commitment to employing engineers and skilled professionals. At the peak of construction for this expansion, we expect to have about 95,000 skilled workers on site, and we will continue to grow,” Dangote said.

Once the work is finished, the Dangote Refinery will become the largest facility of its kind on the planet. It will even overtake the famous Jamnagar Refinery in India. This massive job boost will provide incredible opportunities for Nigerian technicians, artisans, and engineers. Dangote believes that using local expertise is the best way to transform the economy. This project is a key part of his vision to industrialise Africa and make the continent more self-sufficient. This massive job boost represents a bright future for thousands of young professionals looking to build their careers in the energy sector.
