A faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) backed by Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has scheduled the screening of more than 3,000 aspirants seeking elective offices ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement posted on the party’s official Facebook page on Sunday, the faction disclosed that 2,122 State House of Assembly aspirants, 748 House of Representatives aspirants, 198 senatorial aspirants, and 112 governorship aspirants will face screening panels nationwide.
The party also confirmed that one presidential aspirant is expected to appear before the screening committee.
According to the statement, the nationwide screening exercise will hold on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, by 10:00 a.m.
The Interim National Working Committee (iNWC) further unveiled members of the Screening Committees and Screening Appeal Panels, stressing that the process aligns with the party’s guidelines and timetable for the 2027 general elections.
