Fear and tension continue to spread across Oyo State after armed men stormed two schools in Ahoro-Esiele, Oriire Local Government Area, leaving one teacher dead and several people in captivity. The shocking school abduction happened on Friday at LA Primary School and Community Grammar School, where gunmen reportedly seized staff members and students during the violent attack.

In a distressing video recorded from captivity, Mrs. Rachael Alamu, principal of Community High School, called on the Federal Government, the Oyo State Government, the Christian Association of Nigeria, and concerned Nigerians to help secure their release. Speaking emotionally, she said, “I am Mrs. Alamu. I am the principal of Community High School in Oyo State. On Friday, around 9:30, we were attacked by a certain group of people, and a good number of us were abducted.”

The school abduction reportedly affected the principal, two vice principals, three teachers, and several students. Mrs. Alamu explained that the victims had remained in captivity since the incident began. She further appealed for peaceful intervention, saying, “I am making this video to ask for help from everyone… so that our lives will not be lost.”

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Government confirmed that security operatives have stepped up rescue operations around the National Park area. Commissioner Dotun Oyelade stated that officers have blocked possible escape routes and contained the attackers within the forest region. Authorities also said they are still verifying the exact number of students involved in the school abduction.
