The Sokoto State Hisbah Board has sealed a suspected brothel and arrested 11 suspects, including men and women, during a late-night raid in the Sokoto Cilma area of Sokoto.

The operation, carried out on Wednesday evening, formed part of a special enforcement exercise tagged “Operation Tsaftace Birni Shehu,” aimed at crushing activities considered immoral and contrary to religious and public order laws in the state.

According to officials, the raid followed intelligence reports from residents who raised concerns over alleged suspicious activities at the property.

The Acting Commander of the board, Imam Sirajo AbubakSokoto Hisbah intensifies crackdown on alleged immoral activitiesar, who also serves as Director of Da’awah and Aids, personally led the operation.

Authorities confirmed that all suspects were apprehended at the scene, while the building was immediately shut down pending further investigation.

Abubakar declared that the board would intensify efforts to purge the metropolis of prostitution and other acts it believes threaten societal values and corrupt young people.

He warned that offenders would face prosecution, stressing that similar enforcement operations would continue across the state.
