Tenkobo criticises Stella Maris after the widow of late Nollywood actor Mr Ibu appealed for public financial support, reigniting debate over the veteran actor’s estate.
Comic actor Fred Ebere, popularly known as Tenkobo, accused Stella Maris Okafor of exploiting her late husband’s name to seek sympathy and donations. She had appeared in a video shared by influencer King Mitchy, saying she could not afford house rent and her children’s school fees.
However, Tenkobo rejected the appeal. He claimed Mr Ibu made significant investments during his lifetime and questioned what happened to the actor’s houses and landed properties.
He also alleged that members of the actor’s family sold some of those assets after his death. According to him, Stella Maris should explain how the proceeds were used instead of suggesting Mr Ibu left nothing behind.
Furthermore, Tenkobo said he contacted Mr Ibu’s first son, Valentine Okafor, after seeing the video. He maintained that the late actor provided for his family and invested wisely throughout his career.
Although Tenkobo said he had no objection to anyone seeking financial help, he argued that such appeals should not create the impression that Mr Ibu failed to plan for his family’s future.
Tenkobo criticises Stella Maris as questions continue to surround the management of Mr Ibu’s estate. Neither Stella Maris nor other members of the family had publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.
