An attack on Rumuodogo has reportedly left several people dead after armed men stormed Rumuodogo 2 in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State. Residents said the attackers burned houses, looted valuables and forced many people to flee. However, authorities have not confirmed the number of casualties.

According to local accounts, more than 20 gunmen invaded the community on Tuesday night. Witnesses claimed that nearly 10 people were killed during the assault. They also alleged that the attackers targeted homes before setting them ablaze and stealing property.

Rumuodogo consists of Rumuodogo 1 and Rumuodogo 2. Residents said the affected area shares a boundary with Obuama in the Kalabari Kingdom. Some community members believe the Rumuodogo attack is linked to an attempt to seize land in the area, although this claim has not been independently verified.

Meanwhile, the incident has been reported to the police. Residents said they are waiting for security agencies to investigate and restore calm. However, there are unconfirmed reports that some people in the community may be planning a reprisal attack.

The police have not yet issued an official statement on the incident.
