David Adeleke, a Nigerian artist and producer better known by his stage name Davido, has been charged with violating a financial arrangement with a businessman by posting on Instagram.

Abusalami said that the well-known artist had broken the terms of an agreement about a children’s initiative on his Instagram profile. Out of a total project cost of 326 million naira, the complainant said he paid Davido 218 million naira, but the artist did not fulfill his responsibilities.

The initiative, which involved young talent from 20 different states, was set but ultimately cancelled by Davido, leaving Abusalami with a loss of 42 million naira, according to a comprehensive statement he posted on his Instagram page.

Abusalami further asserted that the musician turned down his request for Davido to appear in a commercial for the initiative. He emphasized that the musician took his money and left without completing the job, calling Davido a “thief.”

He also brought up his personal financial struggles and the project’s possible harm to the young athletes who were meant to profit from it.

Abusalami recounted how the circumstance caused him to experience melancholy and suicidal thoughts. He claimed that when he thought of the young people who look up to him for guidance, he put the idea of ending his life on hold.

However, as of the time that this story was filed, Davido has not responded to the accusation.
