Accord Party Demands EFCC Chairman’s Resignation Over Osun Account Freeze

Accord Party has demanded the immediate resignation of EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede over the freezing of Osun State Government accounts.

The Accord Party welcomed President Bola Tinubu’s order directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to reverse the freeze.

Speaking in Abuja, National Chairman Maxwell Mgbudem said the party had lost confidence in Olukoyede’s leadership. He accused the EFCC of acting in a partisan manner ahead of the August 15 Osun governorship election.

Mgbudem urged Olukoyede to resign, or for President Tinubu to remove him.

Meanwhile, the Accord Party called on INEC, security agencies, civil society groups and the media to protect the election’s credibility.

The EFCC had defended the account freeze as part of its powers to investigate suspected financial crimes. Tinubu later ordered the commission to return to court and vacate the freezing order.
