The All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council has again disputed charges that Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s platform lacks creativity. Tinubu is the party’s nominee for president.

Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation Magazine and director of strategic communications for the Atiku Campaign Organization, claimed that Tinubu’s Renewed Hope was heavily influenced by Chief Moshood Abiola’s manifesto for the defunct Social Democratic Party and the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993, presidential election, Hope ’93.

Dr. Musa Babayo, Director of Policy, Research and Strategy Directorate of the APCPCO, disputed Chief Momodu’s assertion as unsubstantiated and unsupported in an interview with journalists on Thursday in Abuja.

He stated that one of the issues Tinubu addressed in his blueprint was insecurity and claimed that Nigeria wasn’t dealing with insurgency and banditry in 1993.

The issues keep evolving, he said. This manifesto does not contain any copied text. This manifesto is a recent text that includes some of the enormous difficulties facing the Nigerian state. In the Hope ’93 Manifesto, there was no mention of a security issue. The Maradi-Kano train line did not exist. Nigeria in 1993 was not the same as Nigeria now. The Second Niger Bridge will soon be opened by this administration. In 1993, nothing like existed. We call this change.

“As a result, I wish to completely reject the remarks made by the spokesperson for the opposing campaign. They have a right to talk since we are already ahead of the competition, and when you are ahead of the pack, you should anticipate that those who are trailing you would do everything in their power to reduce your market share. By God’s help, we shall continue to increase our political market share till we deliver Asiwaju/Shettima as President and Vice President, respectively, in 2023.
Earlier, when speaking to committee members, Dr. Babayo gave his team the important responsibility of internalizing, domesticating, and presenting Tinubu’s aspirations through his manifesto.

“I hope the majority of you have read the campaign’s Renewed Hope Manifesto. It’s a significant paper that gives us a clear understanding of the path an Asiwaju/Shettima Administration will lead us down. This paper will serve as a reference for our Policy, Research, and Strategy mandate.

The best campaign document and best representation of the goals, hopes, and dreams of our nation is the Tinibu/Shettima manifesto, “Hope Renewed.” It is all-encompassing and concentrates on Nigeria as a whole. It offers a detailed strategy for repositioning the economy and creating jobs. However, as everyone is aware, in politics even a day can seem like a lifetime.
