Tunji Wusu –

The Executive Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, plans to give out electric-powered motorbikes to the locals in an effort to lessen the effects of the elimination of gasoline subsidies on them.

The withdrawal of the fuel subsidy, which caused the price of gasoline to treble, had an impact on almost every sector of the economy, increasing the cost of transportation as well as the pricing of products and services.

The governor responded to the news on Twitter on Wednesday, saying his government would keep working tirelessly to make life as easy as possible for the state’s residents.

The motorbikes, which underwent testing on Wednesday, August 1 in the Republic of Benin, would reportedly be given to meritorious transporters around the state, according to the governor.
