The former Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, expressed optimism on Monday that the current political issues between the G-5 governors, led by Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state, and the PDP presidential nominee, Atiku Abubakar, will soon be resolved.

The late Dr. Olusola Saraki’s son, also a former governor of Kwara state, said to journalists in Ilorin on the eve of the 10th anniversary of his passing: “We shall surprise Nigerians. We will cooperate to improve the lives of many Nigerians.

“We’ll astound Nigerians. This is so that we may all consider what is best for this nation. Take a look at the destitution on the street. Take a look at how poorly governance has performed.

Because Nigerians want the PDP to retake power, we will prioritize serving them. We will settle the minor disagreements between Governor Wike and Alhaji Abubakar, and ultimately, whether Wike or anyone else, the PDP as a whole wants a better Nigeria.

Senator Saraki reflected on a period when his late father was trying to persuade him to enter politics. It was challenging. It was a struggle, and I fought against it. Today, though, I realize that witnessing others’ growth provides the greatest sense of fulfillment.

“As his children, the only thing we can do is carry on his legacy of ensuring that people’s lives are improved and standing out for the truth. Even though it can be challenging to stand up for the truth, I’m determined to fight for a better Kwara.

Other dignitaries present at the fidau included Senator Gbemisola Saraki, Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Abdulfatah Ahmed, a former governor of the state of Kwara, Abubakar Kawu Baraje, a former national chairman of the PDP, and Bolaji Abdullahi, a former minister of youth and sports.

Others include Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, Hon. Bio Ibrahim, Professor Ali Ahmad, Hon. Babatunde Mohammed, the wife of Senator Saraki, and the former speaker of the Kwara state House of Assembly.

Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi, the contender for governor in 2023, his deputy, and Hon. Gbenga Makanjuola are a few others.
