Babatunji Wusu –

The statewide strike that has been announced by labor unions will begin on Tuesday, according to the Bauchi State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress.

This information was revealed on Thursday in the state during a news conference by Dauda Shu’aibu, the State NLC Chairman.

Shu’aibu point out that the choice was made in accordance with instructions from the NLC’s national headquarters.

According to him, the chapter agreed with the choices made by the National Executive Council of the NLC and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria during the numerous gatherings where they discussed the country’s current condition.

“We unanimously denounced the apparent purposeful lethargy and slowness in dealing the implications of its gas price hike on Nigerians,” he stated, “taking cognizance of the widespread difficulties and deprivation afflicting our compatriots across all states of the federation.

“The councils discussed the Federal Government’s ongoing refusal to participate in a meaningful and productive dialogue within the bounds of good faith.

The NLC and TUC NEC noted that there was no dissent between Labour and the government over the severity of the country’s suffering, destitution, and hunger.

“The crisis was caused by the increase in the price of gasoline, which necessitated the necessity for immediate corrective action.

“The state continues to pose a serious threat to trade unions through the brutal and repressive power of the Police and government.”

He claimed that the strike was in keeping with the Independence Day celebrations and added that it was intended to show commitment for a truly independent Nigeria to take control of its own destiny and save the country.

“We will start an indefinite and complete shutdown of the country at 0 a.m. on Tuesday.

He claimed that as of October 3rd, “Labor directs all workers in Nigeria to withdraw their services from their various workplaces.”

However, he urged all of his supporters and patriotic citizens to band together and back the unions’ strategy for rescuing the nation from its economic woes.
