Blessing CEO has apologised to Nigerians for making insensitive remarks about other people’s suffering after facing personal tragedy. Her apology came shortly after her partner, IVD, asked his business partners, family and friends for forgiveness.
Blessing CEO made the apology in a lengthy Instagram post on Tuesday. She said she regretted the way she had spoken about people’s pain and acknowledged the impact of her words.
The relationship expert, who recently lost her second son while in prison, said her current experience had made her reflect on her previous comments.
She admitted that words were not enough to repair the hurt she had caused.
“I am realising that talk is cheap but action is loud. I’m only human, with blood flowing through my veins, so I’m bound to make mistakes,” she wrote.
She added that she was struggling with the emotional weight of her current situation and asked Nigerians to pray for her. “I am sorry, I am so so sorry, for speaking about the pains I have never felt carelessly,” she said.
Blessing CEO also apologised to people she had hurt through her words and actions. She said she could now understand the pain she had previously mocked.
Her apology has drawn attention to her earlier comments about IVD’s late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna.
Blessing CEO had faced criticism after suggesting that Bimbo was responsible for the tragedy surrounding her death. Her remarks attracted accusations of mocking the deceased.
Meanwhile, following the public disclosure of her relationship with IVD, an old video of Blessing CEO also resurfaced on social media.
In the video, she said she would rather “put you 6 feet and collect him” than snatch another woman’s husband.
Her latest apology comes amid renewed public attention to her past statements and her relationship with IVD.
