Babatunji Wusu –
Senator Monday Okphebholo has officially been sworn in as the Governor of Edo State, with Dennis Idahosa taking the oath as the Deputy Governor.
Okphebholo’s rise to the governorship followed his victory in the September 21, 2024 governorship election, where he defeated Asue Ighodalo, his closest rival and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This makes Okphebholo the fifth governor of Edo State since the start of the Fourth Republic in 1999.
