A make-up artist and cancer survivor, Deborah Mbara, has broken her silence after alleging that controversial relationship expert Blessing CEO falsified her medical report to support claims of having stage 4 breast cancer.

The development follows a call by the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) for the arrest of Blessing over allegations of altering a cancer patient’s medical record.

The controversy began after Blessing CEO shared what she claimed was her medical report, allegedly issued by Xinus Medical Diagnostics and signed by a consultant pathologist, to solicit financial support from the public.

However, the diagnostic centre refuted the claim, stating that the original report belonged to Deborah Mbara and was issued in May 2025.

Speaking in a video posted on her Instagram page, Mbara explained that she had earlier shared her medical report with Blessing in good faith.

According to her, “Sometime last year, Blessing CEO was in Asaba, and I worked as her makeup artist. Recently, when she began claiming she had cancer, my friend and I reached out to support her. We even involved a doctor to guide and encourage her.”

Mbara said Blessing later requested her medical report under the pretext of comparing diagnoses.

“She asked me to send my report so she could compare it with hers, and I agreed. But I was shocked to later see my report online, altered and used to support her claims while people were donating money,” she said.

She further alleged that despite publicly denying any connection to her, Blessing later visited her family to plead for forgiveness.

“She said she didn’t know me, but she came to my house to beg my husband and family. My husband asked her to make a public apology and explain what really happened,” Mbara added.

Describing the incident as betrayal, she said, “I thought I was helping someone in need, not knowing she had a different agenda. This is evil.”

The incident has sparked widespread reactions online, raising concerns about medical misinformation, fraud, and the exploitation of public sympathy.
