Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Al Nassr defeated Damac FC 4-1 on Thursday night to secure the Al Nassr Saudi title on the final day of the Saudi Pro League season.

The victory at Al-Awwal Park in Riyadh ended Al Nassr’s long wait for a league crown, delivering the club’s first Saudi Pro League title since the 2018-19 campaign. It also marked Ronaldo’s first major trophy since joining the Saudi side.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after heading home a corner delivered by Joao Felix. Damac briefly responded after the break when Morlaye Sylla converted a penalty, but Al Nassr quickly regained control.

Kingsley Coman restored the home side’s advantage before Ronaldo produced two decisive second-half goals to seal the Al Nassr Saudi title triumph.

The Portuguese star first scored from a difficult free-kick angle, curling the ball through a crowded penalty area and into the net. He later completed his brace in the 81st minute after Coman delivered a precise pass into the centre of the box.

Al Nassr dominated possession throughout the contest and finished with 13 shots, including eight on target. Damac managed only three attempts during the match.

The result also confirmed Damac’s relegation following Al Riyadh’s victory over Al Okhdood.

After disappointment in the AFC Champions League Two final against Gamba Osaka, Ronaldo and Al Nassr finally celebrated a memorable league success with the Al Nassr Saudi title victory.

Can Ronaldo lead Al Nassr to more trophies next season?
