Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, has directed security personnel to immediately engage bandits and terrorists once they are deployed, warning that delaying action while waiting for further approval would attract serious consequences. The Christopher Musa security directive was issued on Wednesday during the commissioning of 62 operational vehicles and other security equipment valued at ₦27.1 billion in Sokoto State. The Christopher Musa security directive aims to strengthen the fight against insecurity and improve operational effectiveness.

The equipment was procured by the Sokoto State Government to support security operations across the state and enhance the capacity of security agencies in tackling criminal activities.

Addressing security personnel at the event, Musa urged them to act decisively whenever they confront armed criminals in the course of their duties.

“Once you’re are deployed do not wait for any order from anybody to to sh++t any bandit or any t+rrorist.

I want to make that very loud and clear; anybody who refuses to sh++t or k+ll any bandit or t+rrorist in the name of waiting for an order, we will treat you like a bandit.”

The Defence Minister also stressed the importance of maintaining the newly acquired operational vehicles and equipment, noting that the state government had committed significant financial resources to improving security.

“It is important for those that will handle this equipment, these equipment cost billions of naira that could have been used for other aspects but have been dedicated to this.

So I want to charge you that you must maintain this equipment very well. We will come after a year to see how these equipment are doing,” he said.

Musa emphasised that proper use and maintenance of the equipment would help security agencies maximise the investment and improve their response to security threats. The Christopher Musa security directive also underscores the Federal Government’s continued focus on strengthening security operations through better resources and operational readiness.

How important is proper equipment and rapid response in improving Nigeria’s fight against insecurity?
