Babatunji Wusu –
Dennis Idahosa has been chosen by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be Senator Monday Okpebholo’s running mate for the Edo State gubernatorial nomination.
At a gathering on Sunday night, Idahosa was unveiled in front of the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, Adams Oshiomhole, the former governor of Edo State, Okpebholo, and a few other party leaders.
Idahosa was one of the candidates running for the Edo governorship seat on the APC ticket in the party primary; nevertheless, the Okpebholo ended up winning the ticket and becoming the party’s nominee for the November 21, 2024, election.
It is anticipated that Idahosa will drop his lawsuit against the party over the results of the Edo primary elections now that he is the deputy governorship candidate.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be presented with the party’s nominee and running partner, Senator Monday Okpebholo, by APC National Chairman Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and National Secretary Sen. Ajibola Bashiru at the Villa today (Monday).
Idahosa will take the position of Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who was named the governorship candidate’s running mate last week.
