In Israel, One Person Has Been Killed in an Exchange of Fire Between the Two Opposition, While Israel Continues to Pound Gaza.

After fatal confrontations with Hezbollah, Israel designated its northern border with Lebanon a closed military zone, raising worries of the creation of another front amid a continuous pounding of the Gaza Strip.

On Sunday, Israel demanded people not to approach the Lebanese border within 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) or they would be fired upon. It advised those living near shelters in border areas, which are densely populated with tiny rural towns and villages.

This comes after one person was murdered in Hezbollah attacks on Sunday morning, which were answered by Israeli artillery fire.

The Lebanese political and military group said the attacks were in response to Israel’s earlier bombings into Lebanon, which killed two civilians and a Reuters cameraman filming near the border.

The Israeli move on Sunday is a significant step toward preparing for the potential that Hezbollah may create a second front and assist Hamas forces in the Gaza Strip.

Israel has also bombed airports in Syria’s Aleppo and Damascus, ostensibly to deter Iran from entering the battle through Syria. Tehran has not publicly threatened to join the conflict but has warned Israel that if it continues to bomb Gaza, it will suffer consequences.
