The 11.8-kilometer Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos is undergoing a comprehensive renovation project led by the Federal Ministry of Works.

According to Jubril Gawat, the media assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the routine upkeep procedure is being carried out in cooperation with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation Ltd.

On Wednesday, November 22, Gawat posted pictures of the ongoing repairs on social media, writing, “ONGOING Comprehensive Rehabilitation works on 3rd Mainland Bridge Ramps (Adekunle) by the Federal Ministry of Works.” CCECC Construction Messrs. So far, the job is proceeding without incident.

 

Prior to this, the Federal Government had declared that all of the Third Mainland Bridge’s ramps will be closed for repairs, starting on Monday at 7 a.m.

This was announced on Friday by the Federal Ministry of Works in a statement that was signed by Olukorede Keisha, the Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State.

According to Keisha, the federal government would be fixing the bridge extensively.

“The driving public is hereby notified that all four ramps connecting Adekunle to TMB will be closed at the same time going forward,” the statement said in light of the aforementioned.

As a result, drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes and work with the traffic management officers stationed to control traffic and guarantee smooth travel.
