|By Babatunji Wusu- Nigeria’s Super Eagles have retained 26th place in the latest FIFA World Rankings released on Thursday.

The FIFA World Rankings show that the Super Eagles remained unchanged despite playing four international matches in recent weeks. Éric Chelle’s side secured a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe and followed it with a 3-0 victory over Jamaica at the Unity Cup tournament in London.

However, the team drew 2-2 with Poland in a friendly match in Warsaw before suffering a 2-1 defeat to Portugal in Leiria on Wednesday.

Despite the mixed results, the FIFA World Rankings still place Nigeria third in Africa. Morocco remain the continent’s highest-ranked side, while Senegal hold second place. Algeria and Egypt complete Africa’s top five teams.

Meanwhile, world champions Argentina continue to lead the FIFA World Rankings. Spain, France, England and Portugal also retained their positions in the global top five.

The next FIFA rankings update is scheduled for July 20.
