-De Laurentiis snubs Turkish giants over permanent transfer
-Pundit spills explosive details of talks aboard private yacht
A potential blockbuster deal to secure Victor Osimhen’s permanent transfer to Galatasaray has collapsed in dramatic fashion, with a Turkish football pundit revealing the shocking manner in which Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis rejected the move.
Osimhen, 26, enjoyed a phenomenal season on loan at Galatasaray, where he scored 37 goals and contributed eight assists in 41 appearances across all competitions. His heroics helped the Turkish side clinch a domestic double and earned him cult-hero status among Galatasaray supporters.
Despite the club’s strong desire to keep the Nigerian striker, talks with Napoli have stalled. According to Turkish pundit Ugur Karakullukçu, the breakdown was far from civil.
Speaking during a broadcast, Karakullukçu painted a vivid picture of the negotiations, revealing a tense encounter during Galatasaray’s visit to Italy for talks.
“While Galatasaray’s management was in Italy for the Osimhen talks, the Napoli president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] told the middleman on his boat, ‘Tell these guys I am not selling to Galatasaray. They should get lost,’” Karakullukçu said, referencing reports from Habersarikirmizi.
He added, “He is not actually saying ‘Get lost,’ he is saying something more serious. I am saying it politely. This’s literally true.”
The comments suggest a serious rift between the two clubs, with De Laurentiis reportedly dismissing the Turkish champions outright, despite Osimhen’s proven form and Galatasaray’s willingness to negotiate.
Osimhen’s future now hangs in the balance, with speculation likely to mount over his next move, as Napoli look for a new direction and Galatasaray are forced to explore alternatives for their frontline.
