Bournemouth have completed the signing of Serbian international goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea on a five-year deal, the clubs confirmed on Wednesday. The transfer is reported to be worth £25 million ($33.44 million).
The 25-year-old arrives following the departure of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Bournemouth’s starting keeper last season while on loan from Chelsea. Kepa recently secured a move to Arsenal. Additionally, backup goalkeeper Mark Travers has joined Everton on a four-year contract.
Petrovic featured in 23 Premier League matches for Chelsea during the 2023–24 season. He previously spent time on loan at Strasbourg, where he earned Player of the Season honors after guiding the French side to a seventh-place finish and a UEFA Conference League playoff spot.
“I came to Bournemouth because I want to grow and I want to play at the best level,” Petrovic said.
Bournemouth, who finished ninth in the Premier League last season, will kick off their new campaign with an away fixture against reigning champions Liverpool on August 15.
