Tunji Wusu –

In response to the contentious viral dollar video, the Kano Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has invited Abdullahi Ganduje, the former governor of Kano state, to appear before it within seven days.

This was said by the anti-graft commission chief in Kano on Thursday in response to inquiries from reporters.

He clarified that a letter of invitation has since been sent to the former governor in an effort to get him to respond to inquiries about the alleged corruption charges against him.

According to him, the panel has the authority to look into cases of corruption from all sectors of life.

“We have a forensic agreement with professionals to analyze the footage, and we would take every reasonable step to look into the situation and any other corruption-related issues in Kano.

Following through on our promise to conduct the inquiry into the purported bribery films (commonly referred to as dollar videos) involving the former governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, in accordance with the law as usual.

“The panel anticipates the former governor to appear before it the following week so that he can have the chance to defend himself in the current inquiry.

“I have signed a letter inviting him to testify before the commission the next week because the law requires it and we will give him plenty of time to do it. Muhyi said.

“There is what the law offers; the nature of the law is coercive; it demands obedience. You are not pressured by the law to go and do anything in particular.

He said, “There are protocols, and we will take all the required actions to accomplish what is required.

In a related event, the Chairman of PCACC, Muhyi Magaji Rimingado, claimed that forensic examination specialists had assured him that the viral video showing the alleged receipt of graft from contractors by the former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, was not doctored.

On Wednesday, at the Kano Anti-Corruption Institute, he made this comment in response to queries from attendees of a One-Day Public Dialogue on Anti-Corruption Crusade.
