I Took Hydroxychloroquine, It worked And I’m Fine- Brazil President, Bolsonaro

President of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, who tested positive for covid-19, has announced that he is very well after he took hydroxychloroquine tablet.

Bolsonaro said this on his weekly Facebook live on Thursday at his official residence.
The President had dismissed the seriousness of the virus and described it as mere flu since the beginning of the pandemic.

Bolsonaro had criticized containment measures ordered by governors, health minister in Brazil despite the country being second most hit with Coronavirus behind the United States.
Brazilian president on Thursday said he started taking one hydroxychloroquine tablet every day after he started feeling unwell and now he is ‘very well’.
The drug, originally tested to fight malaria, has been suggested as a treatment for COVID-19 in many countries but has not been formally approved.
“I’m saying this very clearly, I took [hydroxychloroquine] and it worked. I’m fine, thank God.”

He further told those against the use of the anti-malaria drug to provide an alternative.

“Let those who criticize it at least offer an alternative,” Bolsonaro added.
He, however, denied making “propaganda for the use of hydroxychloroquine
