Tobi Amusan, the reigning world champion, was unable to successfully defend her title after coming in sixth place in the World Athletics Championship final on Thursday, August 24 in Budapest.

In the final race, Amusan placed sixth in 12.62 seconds. Danielle Williams of Jamaica, who won the race in 12.43 seconds, took the championship away from her.

Keni Harrison won the bronze medal in 12.46 seconds, followed by Jasmine Camacho-Quinn in second place with a time of 12.44.
