The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that more than 6.2 million Nigerians have registered in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise as at Week 6.

In its latest weekly pre-registration update covering September 22 to 28, 2025, the Commission reported a total of 6,232,673 registrants, with women slightly outnumbering men. Females accounted for 3,250,338 (52.15%), while males totaled 2,982,335 (47.85%).

Young Nigerians remain the driving force of the exercise, as 4,230,715 registrants fall within the 18–34 age bracket. Students also formed a significant bloc with 1,565,824 entries, while 137,865 persons with disabilities completed their pre-registration.

INEC further disclosed that in Week 5 of the exercise (September 22–26), a combined total of 1,004,132 registrations were completed—with 537,743 online and 466,389 physical. Women again led the tally with 555,077 (55.28%), compared to 449,055 (44.72%) men.

The youth demographic once again dominated this phase with 742,379 completed registrations, alongside 354,406 students and 13,987 persons with disabilities.

INEC said the surge in figures reflects the growing enthusiasm among young Nigerians to participate in the electoral process.
