The sixth governor of Ekiti State to be democratically elected has been installed: Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.

Kayode Fayemi, the previous head of the Nigeria Governors Forum, was succeeded by Oyebanji.

At the Ekiti Parapo Pavillon in Ado-Ekiti, the state’s capital, Oyebanji and his deputy chief Monisade Afuye took the oath of office.

Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the chief judge of Ekiti, conducted the event.
At 12:52 p.m., Oyebanji took the oath of office and loyalty in front of the Chief Judge and a huge audience at the event location.
