Nnamdi Kanu, the head of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), is represented by Ifeanyi Ejiofor, who stated on Tuesday that his client’s health was deteriorating while in the care of the Department of State Services (DSS).
According to the attorney, the DSS turned down N1 million given to it by Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), Kanu’s lead attorney, for the agitator’s medical needs.
According to Ejiofor, Kanu has been experiencing heart issues and some mineral deficiencies that call for medical attention.
He claimed that Kanu had been denied access to his private physicians for the treatment of his illness.
Kanu’s lawyer, Ejiofor, claimed to have visited him on Monday at the DSS detention facility in Abuja, and he advised that his client required immediate care without further delay.
The DSS has not yet responded to requests for comment from The Nation.
