The governorship candidate of the people democratic party in Ogun State senator   Buruji Kashamu has promise to give local government in the state autonomy and also he will not deduct form their allocation.

He disclose this during a visit to the palce of the traditional rulers- the Lamodi of Ijebu-Isewo, His royal Highness, Oba sikiru Adedoyin and the Aladekan of Oke –Ako-ijebu-ode Local government area His royal Highness Oba Joshua Osunsami(JP)

Kashamu  was also described as the beloved son of the land by the two traditional rulers.

They commended him for having the foresight to put his key policies and programmes in an understaking which he has been giving to all traditional rulers in the state. In the undertaking, which he elaborated on, Kashamu promised to allow local governments to enjoy full financial autonomy without deducting from their monthly allocations. This, he said, would engender grassroots developments. He also committed himself to addressing the issues of cooperative deductions and contributory pensions without a view to allowing the will of the workers to prevail. The candidate also said Micro Small Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMSEs) will be encouraged to thrive through the facilitation of microfinance and community banks that would advance revolving facilities to entrepreneurs at zero interest rate. At the palace of the Lamodi of Ijebu-Isiwo,Oba Adedoyin, Kashamu said if elected he would fix the major road leading to the town. In his remarks, Oba Osunsami said, “Kashamu has shown time and again that he is truly a proud son of Ijebuland. Others have been here but none spoke like this or brought any undertaking to hold him by. You, Kashamu, are our beloved son in whom we are well pleased.” Speaking earlier, Oba Adedoyin said with Kashamu’s plans for the grassroots and traditional institutions which he has documented, it was incumbent on all to support him. The candidate was accompanied on the trips by notable PDP leaders in Ijebu-Ode Local Government, including Chief Ade Alatishe and Alhaji Bisi Quadri, among others.
