Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has unveiled his formula for staying relevant in the music industry — unwavering consistency.
Speaking on the Selah Meditate podcast, the “Limpopo” hitmaker said he refuses to retreat when a song underperforms, unlike some artistes who “go back into their shell” after a failed release.
Kcee said he instead doubles his effort, pushing out more tracks to increase his chances of landing another hit.
“I can drop 22 songs, maybe it’s the 25th one that will become a hit. I don’t care because consistency is key,” he stated.
The singer noted that although he has faced tough moments in his career, the public rarely notices because he chooses to remain upbeat and flamboyant, no matter the challenges behind the scenes.
Kcee also credited positive manifestation for shaping his career and personal growth. He recalled how he and his brother, E-Money, used to speak their future into existence while living in Ajegunle.
“If you asked us where we were living, we would say Ikeja. We were not pretending; we were prophesying. And eventually, that’s where we moved to — and we dominated it,” he said.
