Pelumi Olajengbesi, an attorney located in Abuja, has praised Governor Ademola Adeleke and the 26 members of the Osun State House of Assembly for supporting the selection of Adewale Egbedun, a member who is 38 years old, as the Speaker of the Eighth Assembly.

The attorney claimed that the election of a young person to lead the state legislature is evidence of the Adeleke-led administration’s commitment to the inclusion of young people.

According to Olajengbesi, it is now time for the Not Too Young To Run Bill, which was signed into law by the last president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), and which lowered the age requirement for state House of Assembly seats among other things, to be fully implemented.

“The dynamics of executive-legislative business in the state will shift with the election of a young person as Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly. Without a doubt, the election of Hon. Adewale Egbedun is evidence of the Governor Ademola Adeleke’s vow to include young people, according to a statement released by Olajengbesi on Wednesday.

Tuesday saw the election of Egbedun, an Osun State representative for the Odo-Otin State Constituency, to the position of House Speaker, succeeding Timothy Owoeye.

Akinyode Oyewusi, who represents the Ife North Constituency, was also chosen to serve as the House’s Deputy Speaker.

Simeon Amusan, the Clerk of the House, presided over the 8th Assembly’s first official meeting.

Adeleke requested the assistance of the legislature in his proclamation speech in order to carry out his five-point development strategy for the state’s excellent administration.

Adeleke said that since the majority of the legislators and the executive both belonged to the same political party, both branches should cooperate for good administration and the distribution of democratic benefits to the populace.
