After Wales’ star footballer Gareth Bale announced his retirement at age 33, Real Madrid paid tribute to him.

Given that Gareth Bale has announced his retirement from professional football, Real Madrid CF wants to express its gratitude, admiration, and affection for a legendary player for both our team and football in general, according to a statement.

Bale played for the LaLiga team for almost ten years, winning 19 titles and the Ballon d’Or in 2018. He arrived in 2013 on a historic transfer from Tottenham.

The team said in a statement that Gareth Bale “has been part of our team in one of the most successful stages in our history and forever represents many of the brightest moments of the last decade,” citing his goal in the Copa del Rey final in Valencia after a memorable run.

“His name will always be associated with our club’s past and legend. Gareth, good luck and best wishes to you and your family, it said.
Real Madrid’s Bale scored twice in the Champions League finals, including a spectacular game-winning overhead kick against Liverpool in 2018. Bale is known for his quick bursts into the attacking third.

Prior to joining La Liga, Bale played in the Premier League for Southampton and Tottenham. He eventually worked for Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer.
