Lekan Remilekun reveals father missing for 26 years

Lekan Remilekun reveals father missing for 26 years, recounting the emotional story of how his father disappeared after travelling for a gospel ministration in Ondo State.

The Nigerian Zion gospel musician made the disclosure during an interview on the Talk to B podcast. He said his father, Remilekun Amos, a respected gospel singer, vanished after accepting an invitation to minister in Akure in November 2000.

According to Remilekun, his father never returned from the trip, and the family has not heard from him since. The singer described the disappearance as a painful experience that has continued to affect his family more than two decades later.

He said the emotional burden has grown heavier because his own children now ask about the grandfather they never met.

Quoting a Yoruba proverb, he said: “A dead child is better than a missing child,” stressing that the uncertainty surrounding his father’s disappearance has been more painful than knowing what happened.

Lekan Remilekun reveals father missing for 26 years at a time when the family is still searching for answers. He said no one understands the pain of losing a loved one without closure except those directly affected.

The revelation has sparked reactions on social media, with many Nigerians expressing sympathy and hoping that new information could one day emerge about the veteran gospel singer’s disappearance.
