Human rights activist and public commentator, Mahdi Shehu, has warned that the All Progressives Congress (APC) risks crashing out of power the same way the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost its 16-year dominance in 2015.

Posting Tuesday morning on his official X handle, Shehu accused the ruling party of governing with “arrogance, injustice and contempt for Nigerians,” insisting that power built on intimidation and institutional decay cannot endure.

“Whatever goes up must surely come down. Just as PDP rose and fell after its years of pride and betrayal, APC is now walking the same path,” he declared.

Shehu recalled how former PDP National Chairman, Vincent Ogbulafor, boasted in 2008 that the party would rule Nigeria for 60 years — a prophecy that crumbled seven years later. “God showed them who truly owns power. The same will happen to APC if they don’t change,” he warned.

He further accused the APC of destroying national institutions and silencing citizens, stressing that history has never spared leaders who govern with impunity.

Quoting the Bible, he added, “Psalm 37:10 says, ‘A little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look for them, they will not be found.’”
